Jack Murphy is the Chief Investment Officer, Lead Portfolio Manager, and a Senior Securities Analyst for Levin Easterly.
Mr. Murphy has over 31 years of industry experience, 24 with Levin and its predecessor firms. Prior to joining Levin Easterly Partners, Mr. Murphy was a Lead PM for Levin Capital and John A. Levin & Co., Inc. He was at Prudential Securities (1991-1995) and began his career with at Bain & Co. (1988-1991).
Mr. Murphy earned a BS from Bryant College and an MBA from Northeastern University.
Sam Hendel is President and a Co-Portfolio Manager and Senior Securities Analyst for Levin Easterly.
Mr. Hendel has 15 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hendel was a portfolio manager for event driven strategies at Satellite Asset Management (2006-2009). Prior to Satellite, he was an associate director at UBS and worked in both the portfolio trading and proprietary trading groups (2003-2006). Mr. Hendel is a co-founder of Dataminr, the real-time information analytics company.
Mr. Hendel also serves as an associate fellow of Davenport College at Yale University, from which he received his BA in 2003.
Grace Bosserman is Chief Operating Officer of Levin Easterly.
Ms. Bosserman has responsibility for areas including liaising with clients consisting of institutions, funds, and high-net-worth individuals on advisory and investment management matters, and liaising between client management teams and legal counsel. She also coordinates closely with the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer on various matters including business continuity.
She brings extensive experience in operations to her role, having served since 2006 as head of operations for the firm’s predecessor, Levin Capital Strategies. Earlier, Ms. Bosserman had served as Head of Operations and Director of Portfolio Administration for John Levin & Co., another predecessor of Levin Easterly, which she joined in 1989.
Ms. Bosserman’s investment career began in 1985 with Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management Inc., later a division of PaineWebber. Earlier, she held positions with Marubeni America Corp. and Toyomenka (America) Inc, Japanese trading firms with significant U.S. import-export operations. Ms. Bosserman attended New York University.
Michael Collins is a Managing Director and the Head of Investor Relations & Business Development at Easterly Partners Group. He is responsible for all sales and marketing activities.
Prior to Easterly, Mr. Collins served as the Head of Distribution for Kennedy Wilson, a global real estate investment company. Mr. Collins was responsible for all sales and marketing activity and sat on the KW Investment Committee. Previously, Mr. Collins was a Principal at Blackstone, where he was part of a multi-asset sales team responsible for marketing its real estate, private equity, private debt, and hedge fund strategies. Mr. Collins also worked for Eaton Vance and began his investment career with Lord, Abbett & Co.
Mr. Collins earned his BA and Master’s in Engineering from the University of Buffalo and his MBA from the University of Rochester.
Darrell Crate is the Chairman of Levin Easterly.
Mr. Crate is also Managing Principal of Easterly Partners Group, which he founded in 2009, and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Easterly Government Properties, Inc., a NYSE listed company. Prior to founding Easterly, Mr. Crate served as the Chief Financial Officer of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc., a publicly traded asset management holding company which grew through acquisition. Mr. Crate currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, a global organization supporting general aviation; as a Trustee of Bates College; and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Westminster Kennel Club.
Mr. Crate earned his BA from Bates College and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
LunYan Hoysgaard is a Vice President at Levin Easterly. She is responsible for overseeing human resources functions of the firm.
Prior to joining Levin Easterly, Ms. Hoysgaard was part of the Human Resource team at Affiliated Managers Group.
Ms. Hoysgaard attended Tufts University where she received a B.A. in American Studies and a joint M.A. in Urban Environmental Policy & Planning and Child Study & Human Development.
