Mr. Murphy has over 31 years of industry experience, 24 with Easterly and its predecessor firms. Prior to joining Easterly Investment Partners, Mr. Murphy was a Lead PM for Levin Capital and John A. Levin & Co., Inc. He was at Prudential Securities (1991-1995) and began his career with at Bain & Co. (1988-1991).
Mr. Murphy earned a BS from Bryant College and an MBA from Northeastern University.
Sam Hendel is a Co-Portfolio Manager and Senior Securities Analyst for Easterly Investment Partners.
Mr. Hendel has 15 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hendel was a portfolio manager for event driven strategies at Satellite Asset Management (2006-2009). Prior to Satellite, he was an associate director at UBS and worked in both the portfolio trading and proprietary trading groups (2003-2006). Mr. Hendel is a co-founder of Dataminr, the real-time information analytics company.
Mr. Hendel also serves as an associate fellow of Davenport College at Yale University, from which he received his BA in 2003.
Chris Susanin is the Director of Research and a Senior Securities Analyst for Easterly Investment Partners, focusing on the consumer and industrial sectors.
Mr. Susanin has 21 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Mr. Susanin was a portfolio manager in the industrials group of Point72 Asset Management / CR Intrinsic Investors (2011-2016), portfolio manager of the FrontPoint Consumer & Industrial Fund at FrontPoint Partners (2006-2011), portfolio manager and securities analyst at John A Levin & Co., Inc. focused on the consumer and industrial sectors (2001-2006), and was an Institutional Investor All-Star analyst at Lehman Brothers covering building products and electrical equipment (1996-2001).
Mr. Susanin earned a BA in Economics from Franklin & Marshall College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Rich Petersen is a Senior Securities Analyst for Easterly Investment Partners, responsible for the technology sector.
Mr. Petersen has 27 years industry experience and has been with Easterly Investment Partners for 12 years. Mr. Petersen joined the firm from Pacific Crest Securities, where he was a senior analyst on the software research team ranked “Top Boutique” by Institutional Investor for the last three years. Previously, Chris spent 20 years as an Institutional Sales Trader, most recently as Managing Director at Convergex. Chris was also on the trading desks at Morgan Stanley,
SunTrust and Robertson Stephens. Chris received his B.A. in English at Hobart College.
